How To Make Wood Benches

Wood Benches
It is very difficult to find furniture that is suitable to be used outside the house. Especially when the weather is harsh, it has become very inconvenient for homeowners to place furniture out on their yard to be used on special occasions. More so, natural elements that are more prominent outside one’s home increase the risk for such furniture to be dirtied or destroyed. However, the Victorians who were very resourceful thought of a concept on attractive and sturdy outdoor furniture, thus the birth of wood benches. The good thing about the same is that it is very easy to make. If you want to know how, read the guidelines below.
The first step in making wood benches is to prepare the wood that you are going to use. You can choose cypress, cedar or any preserved wood that you can find in hardware stores. Of course, you need to dome some measurements before and having the wood cut. You would need cut wood for corner posts, for seat slats, side supports, seat braces, and facing supports. It is vital that you have the ends of said cut woods sealed so that you can prevent damage due to moisture. The next step in making wood benches is to begin building the seat frame. Have the facing support in an upright position and have it attached to side support and another facing support opposite it. Make sure that the side support is a bit lower than the two facing support to that the slat’s edges will be protected. Now, screw said pieces of wood with screws that are rust resistant. Put another support in between the earlier to facing supports and seat braces on the remaining spaces. When that is done, you can have the rear and front slats pun on the bench. If you have secured the same, you can now turn the thing upside down in order to have the legs tightly attached to the corners.
Secure everything as tight as possible so that when you use the wood benches, they would not wobble. Be careful in making the measurements so that everything will fit once you put them all together.
